For Love Of… Newport

Yoga, Pilates, Creativity, Community.

Welcome to FLO Newport

FLO is more than just another Yoga and Pilates Studio. We’re a community of fun friendly people, just like you, who value health, wellness and connection

YOGA

At FLO, we believe Yoga should be for everyone, not just the already-super-bendy. Our Yoga Classes are simple, fun, and 100% free from confusing jargon. We offer a range of styles including Yin, Hatha and Restorative Yoga, for those looking to unwind, destress and improve their flexibility. And for those who are ready to challenge themselves, we also offer classes in Ashtanga and Vinyasa. Breathe, stretch and smile your way to a healthier, happier you.

PILATES

You may have heard that having a ‘strong core’ is important… or that ‘functional fitness’ is a way to reduce and manage injuries…. but what exactly does that all mean? It means Pilates is really good for you! Our Mat Pilates Classes are a simple way to strengthen your core, reduce injuries and increase stability. Reformer Classes are similar, but they use ‘Reformer Beds’, which allow you to do a full-body strengthening workout, while still remaining safe and injury-free.

CREATIVITY

When’s the last time you learned something new? Or let your creativity run free? Our Creativity and Craft Workshops are a great way to rediscover your inner artist, chef, builder, maker or creator. Learn how to ferment your own foods, make your own candles, brew your own beer, knit with giant wool, be a better parent, paint with watercolours, draw with charcoal… and meet some fun, friendly members of your community while you’re at it. Click on the Events tab to see the upcoming schedule.

Questions?

Do I need to book classes ahead of time?

You can just ‘drop-in’ for a class without booking… but some classes do get full, so it’s a good idea to book ahead. Booking is super easy, even for your first time. Simply Click Here to go to our timetable, select a class, and create an account (it only takes a minute or so). Then, when you arrive, simply check in at reception.

What do I need to bring to my first class?

For your first Yoga class, all you need to bring is a Yoga mat, or small towel. If you don’t have a mat, we sell them for $49-$79. For reformer pilates, you’ll need Grippy Socks (like the ones you get in hospital, or at trampoline places). If you don’t have any, we sell then at reception for $10.

What’s the best class for a beginner?

Our Timetable is colour-coded, with light colours showing our gentlest Yoga Classes, and light colours showing our simplest Pilates Classes. Either way, chances are you won’t be the only first timer, so simply let the instructor know that it’s your first time and they’ll show you where to stand and what to do 🙂

What is the studio's opening hours?

We’re open everyday of the week with classes running throughout the day. Check out our timetable to see when you can come in to practice.
